Saturday Moments with 73:28 (February 21)

I can’t be more clear with you when I tell you that I found Jesus when my life fell apart…

As intimate as the highest peeks of my faith has been and when victory resounded and the mountains were moved before me, it was in the valley of death and mourning when I found a God that I could trust, draw close to, and choose to be vulnerable with.

It’s unconventional doctrine to suggest this, but I can shout with the most pride and courage today about my God because of the decay and ruin that I experienced…

When I came to the end of myself and exhausted all other resources or substances or connections with others, it was there I could lift with a weary arm an empty hand before the Lord, wholly submitted to the reality that I had nothing left to try, to strive for, or to fake.

Wherever you are today, whether on the highest mountain feeling your very best or in the lowest valley clinging for dear life - Jesus has an offer for you. And if we saw this offer with the clarity of Heaven, we would truly understand how irresistible it is. It transcends the busy, it overrides the depressed, and it awakens the lonely.

It doesn’t merely treat our wounds or problems with cortisone, it mends what is broken and it supplies a promise to what needs healing.

You worship a God who is not in the business of hopeful fixes and maybe possibilities. You are adorned and held high by a God whose greatest pleasure is your deepest transformation. And the God who moves the mountains and gives pause to the rivers is the God who is available to sit, walk, or run with you. And though He is adaptable to the struggles we carry, He is rightfully jealous in His ask. The ask to entirely give in, give over, and give up all that ales you.

May your Saturday be a display of Who you worship. That the activities you choose, the desires you feed and the people you give time and attention to would radiate a clear priority in your walk with God. Not that you might boast of all that He has done through you, but that you might tell of all He is to you.

Sunday is coming. But today, Sunday is living inside you. It is the rhythm of your soul and the resting place of your heart. Let it be so, and let us all march with one foot in front of the other just a little bit closer towards the wonder and beauty of Christ.
